Welcome to Heckington Windmill

Set in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, this Grade I listed windmill was built in 1830 with five sails. Damaged in a storm in 1890, the mill was repaired using eight sails, the cap and machinery from a local windmill in Boston.
The site hosts an award-winning Visitor Centre, Tea Room and Brewery, plus gardens, onsite bakehouse and museum. A perfect day out for everyone!
Note : The windmill is currently awaiting repairs following storm damage.
But we are still fully open for visitors​ to explore the windmill, and we grind our own flour using our oil engine driven set of stones on the ground floor of the windmill, our electric Austrian stones, and farm mills powered by our steam engine 'Maud' and other stationary engines.

Join us in the Miller's garden this Easter, decorate a garden box, pot a plant, choose your seeds, and enjoy a cake and juice picnic. All items ready to take home.
A fun, creative workshop for children, lets enjoy the spring air this Easter!

OUR FLOUR

All our flour is stone-ground at the windmill, using locally grown wheat. Available to buy from the mill shop and online
A good quality
​all-round flour for bread and cakes
A blend of wheat and black wheat producing a strong nutty wholemeal flour
Good wholemeal flour with nothing taken out
Spelt wholemeal flour - great for  a really tasty loaf of bread 
Blended in-house for perfect cakes and scones
A dark alternative to wheat flour - rye makes great sour-dough
Bran which has been separated out from the white flour
Oat flour taken by milling our porridge oats to create a lower gluten alternative
Our oats make perfect porridge & flapjacks
White flour that has been finely ground to produce a much finer perfect for pizza dough
