Visitor Comments

Have your say.....

Here are just a few of our many visitor comments from over the years:

  • Just wanted to say how much the group enjoyed their visit this afternoon.  I would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks to your great team of volunteers who were all knowledgeable and welcoming.  The guides made the Mill come to life and the freshly baked bread and cream teas just finished off the afternoon.  I hope visitors to the Windmill will continue for many more years to come.
  • The baking demonstration was a super way for children to learn about healthy eating.
  • We had a fantastic day, Firstly I would like to say how great the staff were, they were all very friendly, informative, helpful and generous.  The staff at the mill were able to adapt and were very supportive and flexible'
  • The tour of the mill was greatly enjoyed by my class despite the cold weather and the hunting for the mice was one of their favourite things
  • The baking demonstration was amazing and the link between the making of the flour in the mill and how the wind pushes the sails and the stones grind the grains and the food baked was made really clear to the children.  They learned more through the experience
  • The shop was really very reasonably priced and the children were very pleased with their purchases
  • The worksheets were brought back with us (again due to the time problems) and the children have enjoyed them
  • I would like to thank you and the staff at the mill too.  You have been very supportive through email etc. and it has been a pleasure to organise this trip
  • Heckington Windmill very friendly, well organised event, lots of helpful information and background
  • Heckington Windmill unique, lovely setting, very informative, learned a lot. A privilege to see the mill.
  • Knowledgeable staff, excellent cookery demonstrations, war time recipes good
  • Very helpful staff, willing to share information re other mills and how to get the best out of our visit
  • A wonderful educational afternoon spent touring all the floors of the windmill, learning the history and how the mill works.
  • The dedication of your volunteers deserves the National Lottery Grant. Good luck with the project. We look forward to future visits when completed
  • Loved seeing how the flour was made – the children enjoyed finding all the mice!
